Chris Voss is Professor of Operations Management at Warwick Business School and Emeritus professor at London Business School where his roles included deputy dean and department chair. He is a fellow of POMS, DSI, the British Academy of Management and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Advanced Institute of Management Research. He trained as an engineer at Imperial College London University and gained his Masters and PhD from London Business School. He has received many honours including being elected the 2008 Distinguished Scholar by the Operations Management Division of the Academy of Management, and the Chris Voss best paper award at the European Operations Management Association (EurOMA) conference being named to recognize his contribution to that society. Professor Voss has a long record of service to the Operations Management community. Chris was founder of the European Operations Management Association and was the chair for many years and has life membership of the board. He has been active in POMS including being president of the POMS College of Service. He has lectured and contributed to development to many organisations across the world.
Chris is a leading empirical researcher in Operations Management and has published widely in leading journals such as Production and Operations Management, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Service research, Journal of Product Innovation Management and International Journal of Operations and Production Management. His research has covered a wide range of areas including operations strategy, service operations management and management of innovation and technology. As well as academic publication he has been active in making his research available to managers and to government policy makers through both a series of reports and benchmarking tools.
